Rodrigo de Oliveira-Silva

As a senior research scientist, Dr. Oliveira-Silva specializes in utilizing and developing diverse magnetic resonance methods for general applications within the Sakellariou Lab of Magnetic Resonance.

With a strong background in applied physics, having earned his Master’s and Ph.D. degree in São Carlos Institute of Physics, Dr. Oliveira-Silva’s previous work centered on the use of NMR in porous media, with a focus on rock core analysis.

In his current role, Dr. Oliveira-Silva focuses on using low-field NMR relaxometry and high-resolution solid-state NMR spectroscopy to characterize polymers and small molecules for materials science investigations. Additionally, Dr. Oliveira-Silva works on designing and developing specialized NMR equipment tailored to address unique and complex challenges within academic and industrial settings.

Current research topics:

–   Porous materials

–   (N)MR hardware design

–   Inversion algorithms

–   Solid-state NMR, low-field NMR relaxometry
